Serious complications after using abortion pills in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy are uncommon, but can still happen. It is recommended to have someone you trust with you when using abortion pills, particularly after using Misoprostol (the second abortion pill).
 
Having said that, we know many women in Malta use abortion pills on their own because of stigma and the illegal status of abortion. Keep you phone charged in case you need to phone for help, and do not consume alcohol or substances that may impair your judgement.
