An abortion with pills is still possible at this stage of pregnancy. You can also travel for a surgical abortion abroad.

Abortion pills (Mifepristone and Misoprostol) can safely be used at home up to 12 weeks of pregnancy, as long as you have clear instructions on how to use them, and can seek medical help if needed.

Women on Web and Women Help Women are organisations that are known to send abortion pills to women in Malta. They ask for a donation of €75 to €100, but if you are unable to pay this please let them know and they may still be able to help. Keep in mind that abortion pills are sent from abroad and will take around two weeks to arrive.

You could also travel to an abortion clinic for a surgical abortion, which is usually a quick and straightforward procedure at this stage of pregnancy. Most European countries allow abortions on demand in the first trimester of pregnancy.

BPAS and MSI are two leading abortion providers in the UK that accept women from abroad, including from Malta. If you can afford private care you could contact them directly. If you need help or financial assistance to plan your trip abroad, you can contact the charity Abortion Support Network for help on 27780991 or 20341685.
